Year 12: Saturday 12th April 2025
What is the Workshop about?
This 6-hour workshop will give you everything you need to know before Term 2 starts, and with over 50% of the Exam involving the topics I will cover, this is the Workshop to go to. You will understand the fundamentals of each of these topics, so that you can rapidly absorb what you’re learning in class. I’ll cover complicated-looking Exam questions and reveal the hidden barriers that make them much easier to solve. By the end of the Workshop, you’ll feel much less stressed out and leave the workshop with a new-found confidence in your abilities in Methods.
What previous students have said...
Who is the presenter?
Alex is creator of one of the most popular Maths Methods websites (MathsMethods.com.au) with degrees in Mathematics/Astrophysics. Over the last 10 years, he's worked with tens-of-thousands of students, teachers, parents and tutors.
He's published over 10 Maths Methods books, presented seminars nationally and internationally.
What will be covered?
For Year 12's: Logs and Exponentials, Circular Functions & Calculus
The majority of the Workshop focuses on Calculus, because this is often 50% of the exam. You will cover every topic in Calculus, so that you are thoroughly prepared for the entire term.
For Year 11's: Sketching, Functions & Probability*
This revises Term 1 and also gives students a head start into Term 2. You learn in detail how to sketch any graph (parabolas, cubics, quartics, hyperbolas etc) and then revise the other Term 1 topics before starting Probability. There is one Probability topic (Called Permutations) which is particularly confusing but you'll probably understand it better than your teacher after this class!
*We also cover Circular Functions (Sin, Cos and Tan) and Logs & Exponentials if there is time. However, if we run out of time, I will stay longer and cover these topics, even if only one student wants to go over it.
What is included?
6-hour interactive presentation:
Using state of the art animations
Simple language that anyone can follow
14-page handout which includes:
• 30 Simple practice questions completed during the Workshop
• Exam-Style Questions with worked-solutions completed during the Workshop
