How to get a 30 Study Score in VCE Maths Methods
Getting a 30 in Maths Methods is probably a bit easier than you think it is. And in fact, if you get a raw study score of 30, generally this gets marked up to a 35, which is equivalent to being in the top 19% of the state, or an ATAR score of about 80 if you did equally well in all of your subjects. Let's break this down a little bit.
1. What SAC score do you need?
According to the 2024 mark distribution of maths methods, the average mark that you need in your SACs is 58 to 66 percent. Now this is going to vary from school to school because of difficulty of the tests and the variety of students, but it does give you a good sort of benchmark. So if you haven't been doing as well during the year as you hope you have been, this might give you a little bit of hope.
2. What mark for Exam 1 and Exam 2?
Because exam 1 and exam 2 are the same all around the state for these three maths methods, this is a much easier thing to have a look at. But for both exams the average mark is around 50%. So if you score 50% on these exams and did equally well everywhere else, this would be the equivalent of getting a 30 which would be marked up to a 35.
3. How to maximise your score
The most important thing you can do is practice exam questions under time conditions this is going to help you learn how to get the best exam technique and I announce any mistakes that you make so doing this regularly probably more than the amount of textbook questions that you do, is really going to help.
